The Viking Volunteer Program’s goal is to provide students with opportunities to serve and be of service to the Long Beach City College campus and community. This program is designed to offer support by creating a space for students to make a positive impact while exploring social activism, community involvement and valuable volunteer experiences.

As a Viking Volunteer, students will track their hours per semester and upon eligibility receive prestigious medals, awards and accolades for your involvement in the program. You will also have the opportunity to receive our Certificate of Recognition represented on your official transcripts!

Program Requirements

Be a Current Long Beach City College Student
Be enrolled in at least 3 units of college course work (unless otherwise approved by the advisor; non-credit courses etc.)

Registration Process

Complete this form
Fill out the Liability Waiver/Hold Harmless/Photo Release Agreement
Upload the Waiver or deliver the completed waiver to Advisor
Your registration information will be reviewed and if complete within 1 week an email invitation for the online membership portal will be sent to you
If anything is missing or incomplete on your form an advisor will contact you

Terms and Conditions

By participating in the Viking Volunteer Program, you agree to submit your timesheet thoroughly and truthfully. Dismissal from the program or disciplinary action may be taken under the following circumstances;

False information is given about an event or volunteering site
False signatures or names are given to represent hours on a submitted timesheet
Site supervisors report any disrespectful, discriminatory, unprofessional or unlawful behaviors or activities at the site or event being held
Failure to participate in the program during the term and failure to submit at least 1 volunteer hour
